This essay is about two who are a lot like us. I mean that we have been told by those who know us reasonably well that we are “One” and not just two individuals who happen to be married. We have been together for sixty-nine years, and we both feel and know that we are one. The two I write about in this essay are “one” in my eyes and my experiences with them. I love and honor them both. They were and are a gift to me.
Even when we began working together in his office, his significant other was a full participant. I also enjoyed being a guest in the home they shared with their two children and a giant Newfoundland. It was a joy to be with them. I also loved being with his office staff. They were receptive and contributors too.
With his support, new clients fell out of trees to have me work with them. This led to my working with his study club group and some of the most wonderful experiences a consultant can experience. Example: They rented the Lammer law, one of the largest Catamarans in the Caribbean, for a week of sailing, diving, great food, and bar. We were eight couples and a crew of five who sailed the boat and cared for us. What more can a teacher ask for? But this was not all. This group of professionals found ways to hold gatherings and workshops beyond belief. Work, but grand fun for them and the lucky people they brought in to teach, all serious students.
At another time, the four of us took a sailing trip on their 50-footer in the Caribbean. When the wind was up, we flew on full sails. He and she are God-loving and live life to the fullest. Being with them was so special that even now, Lenette and I both feel their presence. Love, work, and play; made no difference to them and the lucky people that shared some of their life.
