Sy’s new book, Events Dictate is now available on Amazon.

The following is from Sy:

This Blog is essentially about leadership and voice. Everyone is born with their own voice. Yet, the problem is that those who exercise power throughout the child’s development may make it difficult or impossible for the child to realize their voice. If one’s voice is not their own, then it has to be another’s, whether parent, teacher, friend, or boss.

Between leaders and followers, true equality is a fantasy. Yet having stated that, I also write that the best leaders seek this, if even for a moment. By turning over their power to others when it is called for, they have leveled the relationship with those close to them, be it family or inner circle. And it is here where one’s voice becomes invaluable.

The essays I write continue to be varied. They may be about power, leadership, dialogue, relationships, and even an animal story or two. I never know until I sit at the computer and let my mind do its thing. When I write an essay about a person, it is their unique voice that makes them stand out above the crowd. Whether their attribute benefits others or not, be they negative or positive, I deem their stories worth telling.

Haiku:

My voice is my own—Your voice must be only yours—Or else who are we?
